Why Moorebank?

Moorebank is a co-educational partly selective high school catering for students from years 7-12. The school aims to provide a balanced educational program in a caring and happy environment. We strive to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, co-operation and consideration in which students can increasingly develop a sense of personal responsibility.

Our mission is to provide students with a stimulating and caring environment, to encourage them to pursue personal excellence and to give them the learning experiences and skills to equip them for an ever changing world.

Education in the twenty-first century is complex and challenging, due to the rapidly increasing rate of change in our world. A school's task is to equip its students for a future, substantial parts of which have not yet been envisaged.

At Moorebank, we understand that education is much more about how we learn rather than what we learn. We believe it is more important for students to know how to find answers than it is to just learn some facts which they may or may not use later.

Moorebank develops student leadership with opportunities from Year 7 to Year 12. We have a Student Representative Council which draws members from all years, giving students a say in the running of the school. Our Interact group has members from all years too and raises student awareness of social issues. Moorebank High School is also justifiably proud of it's Prefects, who often become the public face of the school. This year the status and responsibilities of House Captains have been increased and expands the Prefect body to 32 students.
